What is DTF printing?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a digital printing method where designs are printed onto a special film, then transferred to fabric using heat and pressure. It allows for full-color prints with no minimum orders and works on a variety of fabrics including cotton, polyester, and blends.
Is there a minimum order for DTF printing?
No! Unlike screen printing, DTF has no minimum order requirement. You can order as few as 1 piece at the same per-piece price as larger quantities. This makes it perfect for samples, prototypes, and small batch orders.
How long does DTF printing take?
Standard turnaround for DTF printing is 3-5 business days from artwork approval. Rush orders are available for next-day or same-day completion when possible. Contact us for urgent requests.
What's the difference between DTF and screen printing?
Screen printing is best for large orders (24+ pieces) with limited colors, offering the lowest per-piece cost at volume. DTF is ideal for small orders, unlimited colors, photographic images, and polyester fabrics. DTF has no setup fees, while screen printing requires creating screens for each color.
Can DTF print on dark fabrics?
Yes! DTF prints include a white underbase, allowing vibrant full-color prints on any color garment including black and dark colors. The colors remain bright and the print is soft to the touch.
How durable are DTF prints?
DTF prints are very durable and can withstand 50+ washes when properly cared for. We recommend washing inside out in cold water and tumble drying on low. The prints remain soft and flexible even after many washes.
What fabrics work with DTF?
DTF works on cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, tri-blends, nylon, and most performance fabrics. This versatility makes it ideal for athletic wear, fashion items, and promotional products that can't be screen printed.
